  1. Bar feeding/Cut-off quality
The bar feeder on the AMP 20 S features a pair of feed rolls and reduces temperature losses up to the shearing station to a minimum. On the AMP 20 N, the infeed function is per- formed by an infeed motor that drives four feed rolls. This ensures that the input volume is kept at a constant level when working with heavy parts. Both machines are fitted with a robust inte- grated shearing system that positions the cut-offs in front of the first forming station after the shearing process in a repeatable way, thereby ensuring even form filling for the pressing blank.

2. Tool area

The AMP 20 S features a stable, wear-resistant tool block made from a single piece, which guarantees precise tool guidance, resulting in a positive effect on parts accuracy. Wedge adjustment is a very effective way to achieve the optimum required parts geometry when working on small parts. The AMP 20 N is additionally fitted with a larger tool holder in the second station in order to absorb greater forces. In order to optimally distribute the press loads, the AMP 20 N also features a sizeable pressure plate on the punch side. The punch is adjusted using bolsters, which has a positive effect on the repeat accuracy.
Parts transport
The proven and low-maintenance transfer unit, with its upper and lower grippers, reliably grips the forgings and positions them accurately in front of the next forming station. Adjust- able gripper shoes guarantee a high level of flexibility for different shapes and geometries. Even demanding parts such as collar nuts and eccentric cam lobes can be transported at high speeds precisely and reliably.
  3. Process reliability and operation
Thanks to comprehensive monitoring of the relevant operating parameters, the AMP 20 S and AMP 20 N meet the highest requirements in terms of process reliability. The modern interface enables user-friendly, reliable and intuitive operation and diagnostics of the system in all operating conditions.
4. Part discharge
OK parts are discharged to the side through the side wall. This enables parts to be discharged in a way that is almost free from points of impact, reduces contact between the parts and cooling water, and securely separates OK parts from scrap.
5. Clutch/brake combination
The pneumatic clutch/brake combination is long-lasting and easy to maintain. The flywheel bearing has been designed according to the very latest expertise – it is incredibly robust and low-wear.
