Hatebur HOTmatic HM 35 SAM

The HOTmatic HM 35 SAM is the ideal hotformer for the cost⁠-⁠efficient production of precision forgings with a diameter of up to 75 mm and a production rate of up to 150 parts per minute.

The HOTmatic HM 35 SAM is a modern forming machine for the highest of demands. The new hydraulic ejector technology (SAM), the simple operating concept, the short retooling times and the high output rate allow you to efficiently manufacture challenging formed parts. The innovative infeed and shearing system, along with the unique transfer system, guarantee a particularly low-impact discharge of the products, in addition to an extremely high production speed.

1. Raw material infeed and shearing system
The four infeed rollers, which are driven by servomotors, ensure a high volume consistency of the forgings. The bar stop position and the infeed length can be set directly on the control panel during operation and therefore allow for readjustments at any time. Combined with the ESA600, the bar transitions are dropped safely and without silvers. The shearing system is equipped with round stationary and shearing knives. Following shearing, the cut-off is transported in front of a loading station. There, it is picked up by the first gripper or safely dropped by holding the gripper open.

2. Servohydraulic ejector module (SAM)


You can choose to fit the machine with a servohydraulic ejector module at every station. The ejector stroke and the timing can be changed individually via the HMI. In addition, the settings values can be called up via the recipe management system, which in turn reduces the retooling times. Every module has an integrated wear-free ejector brake. The units are protected against overload by a pressure monitoring system.
As an option, the ejector movement can be modified to suit the specific process. The movement of the ejector can be stopped before the actual forming operation, which in turn enables an intermediate forming step to be executed. This opens up previously untapped opportunities and forming processes with a positive impact on the production costs.
3. Transfer unit
Overhead 3-point grippers ensure that the parts are gripped securely and transported safely. The integrated part transfer monitor system will stop the machine if there is no part detected in the gripper. A gripper setting gage allows the grippers to be preset outside of the machine and therefore guarantees short retooling times. The opening and closing times of grippers 2 to 5 are controlled by a common adjustment curve.
4. Discharge
The machine is equipped with a carry-out gripper which allows for low-impact discharge. Combination parts are reliably separated. To do this, one part is discharged through the die block and the other part is discharged into different chutes. This completely prevents parts from being mixed up. The discharge variants can be easily adapted to the formed part using insertable panels.
5. Tool area
The die sets are clamped using a one piece cap. This means that all packages can be changed at the same time. The punch sets are clamped using four individual clamping caps. The axial punching position is set using bolsters. Depending on the process, stripper housings are available in the third and fourth forming station.
6. Hatebur Connect
The machine is ready for any future requirements and offers full remote access. All updates and interfaces for Industry 4.0 can, therefore, also be used.
