HOTmatic
HM 75 XL
The large hotformer with optimal cut-off quality and high process reliability for complex applications.
The HOTmatic HM 75 XL boasts an outstanding concept and is the ideal hotformer for the cost-efficient production of complex forgings with a diameter of up to 180 mm and an initial weight of up to 7.5 kg.
The HOTmatic HM 75 XL is a reliable all-rounder for large-sized forgings. The high-quality machine works reliably, handles its products with care and is cost- effective. At the same time, short retooling times ensure a high level of machine availability. With the Hotmatic HM 75 XL, you will have a fully automatic horizontal hotformer with tried- and-tested Hatebur four-station technology. It is designed for the manufacture of medium- and large-scale production runs of formed parts. You can also forge complex parts in just the same way as bearing rings and gear wheels.
- Integrated HFE functionality for forwards extruded forgings
- Versatile machine kinematics for complex applications
- Optional servo-hydraulic end stop system for optimal cut-off quality
- Low-impact part discharge with few impact points
- High process reliability thanks to accurate transfer unit with individually monitored grippers

1. AC servo motors
The infeed length of the cut-offs can be continuously adjusted to the required length. This is achieved by fast AC servo motors which drive all four infeed rollers and can position them extremely accurately.
2. Transfer system
Top-mounted 3-point grippers, specially developed for maximum speed, ensure secure transport of parts. If a transport fault occurs, the integrated Workpiece Transfer Monitoring System stops the machine immediately. The grippers are adjusted outside the machine on a gripper setting jig.
3. Raw material infeed
The HM 75 XL can be used to process bars from 6 to 10 meters in length. The long bars increase productivity and process reliability. The infeed rollers can be easily and quickly changed to another bar diameter thanks to the integrated forcing-off device.
4. Loading station
The cam operated pusher moves the cut-off securely into the first gripper, which transports it precisely in front of the first forming station. Bar ends or cut-offs that are too short are removed in a reliable process using the opened first gripper.
Shearing system
To produce forgings with a high volume accuracy, the machine has an innovative shearing system with a closed shearing blade.
The forming tools are screwed loose outside of the machine using die and punch covers and inserted into the tool area using a lifting harness and a gantry crane tool change system. The die and punch covers are mounted using screws and an impact screwdriver.
